I have been canine breeder for several years now as I believe in the breed and agility of German shepherds as pets, companion and part of the family. Dollar my dog died late last year after I got home from a business trip and I was shocked to learn from my housekeeper that Dollar was vomiting the Diamond dog food that I had been feeding him combined with bloody diarrhea immediately after I left.

To my chagrin my Vet informed me that she had liver damage which I vehemently protested because of all the tender loving care I have shown to him costing me time, money and effort. Atafloxin a naturally occurring toxic chemical coming from a fungus found on corn and other grains causing severe liver damage in animals was found in my dog.

Now that I have recovered from this personal tragedy I am angry at the Food and Drug Administration for its unacceptable actions of recalling all the Diamond dog food variety’s in the Market. They should have been more vigilant in the first place and extra effort on their part, should have been in place before they marketed poison in pet foods.
Officials at the FDA should resign out of shame. We as tax payers have collectively felt being short changed and heads must roll.
